What is Sigma Chi Iota?
Sigma Chi Iota Academic Honors Society,Inc. is the first professional driven career services oriented academic honors society. Our mission is to increase career awareness, through Service to students, Career exploration, and to do it with Initiative. Our organization serves to promote job development, career counseling, and employer relations on the campuses of all colleges and universities. These initiatives promote student participation within career centers and close the gap between academia and gainful employment.
Each member of Sigma Chi Iota will receive a lifetime membership with recognition of their career services initiatives demonstrated during their collegiate achievements. The survival of the organization is based on the intake of members. The honor society benefits by career networking opportunities, new resources, and reliable feedback from an ever evolving job market.
New membership is limited to students currently enrolled in an accredited institution, who have completed at least 30 semester hours and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.33 or above on a 4.0 scale. Associated level membership is restricted to faculty, staff, and student workers, and/or ambassadors, who do not qualify under the new membership rule.

Board members of the National Foundation will address the cost of membership dues as needed. Dues will begin at $70.00 per member, where each member will be granted a lifetime membership based on the onetime fee. The inaugural leadership team of each chapter will be granted a lifetime membership for free , after the chapter advisor approves the selected members. All rights and privileges will be granted to members of the inaugural leadership team.
It will be the responsibility of the National Foundation (established by the Board of Advisors) to maintain contact with the leadership teams of chapters throughout the United States. its funds will be used to allocate materials needed for new membership induction ceremonies, develop new programs, and assist with scholarship funds for all perspective chapters. All membership revenue will be reported to the National Foundation for budgeting and recording expenditures.
